After a brave and courageous ten month battle with lung cancer my wife Kathy passed away on 5th February 2008 and was 59. The immense love and joy that she brought to my life had gone. She was the most beautiful warm loving special lady who never tired of giving her love and devotion to me and the children. With her bright mind and sharp wit together with her cheeky smile she couldn’t help but melt your heart. I was so glad we were able to celebrate our ruby wedding anniversary in December. Her main concern was always not to let her illness affect the family or other people’s lives as much as she could. She dealt with it with such courage and dignity, never complaining right to the end. Her love and kindness to others was unconditional always putting them first, she had so many friends whom she valued greatly. Kathy took pleasure in bringing joy into people’s lives with her sense of humour and compassion for others. As a mother and grandmother she was second to none and drew such pleasure from them all. I feel honoured and privileged to have been her husband and love her dearly; I miss her presence beyond belief, always. The legacy she left of her beautiful qualities are in our three children, Mark Elizabeth and Victoria who bring some comfort to this immense emptiness that I feel. This Tribute Fund is also a big thank you to all the family and friends who gave so generously towards her memory at the funeral service.
